What is a bully stick?

What are bully sticks made of?

Are they good for my dog?

Will they help with my dogs teeth?

Are they “all natural” and “fat free”?

Bully sticks are all natural and healthy chews for dogs that are rich in protein and a great method of teeth cleaning.  They are lower in fat and easier for dogs to digest than rawhide.  Bully sticks for dogs are made of bull penis, which is, in fact, this dog treat’s only ingredient.  They are sometimes called a beef pizzle, beef stick, pizzle stick, or steer stick, but the most common term is bully stick.  They have grown in popularity in recent years because many dog owners feel they are safer than rawhide treats, they are nutritious and organic, and dogs of all sizes enjoy them. A bully stick may keep a dog entertained for hours, even if he is an aggressive chewer.

As with any treat, scale the size of the treat to the size of the dog. Larger breeds will go through bully sticks faster, but a small-breed dog can take weeks to finish one.  There are also braided bully sticks to give Rover a little variety in his treat selection.
